All-New 2019 Ford Edge to Join Ford Performance ST Family, Among Other Upgrades

Ford Performance has had its share of success in the last decade. Performance treatments for various models like the Fiesta ST, Focus ST, and Focus RS have become both critical darlings and enthusiast favorites. Now, there's a new kid on the block. Along with a complete redesign for the 2019 model year, Ford has decided to offer the new Edge with its own performance package. Enter, the 2019 Ford Edge ST.

The 2019 Edge ST takes the convenience and flexibility of a crossover and adds a heavy dose of power and handling. Power will come from the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, which produces a mighty 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shifting capability will come standard, along with all-wheel drive for improved grip and handling. Additionally, the Edge ST will have a new suspension setup aimed at sharp handling and flat cornering. On top of it all, an appearance package will enhance the Edge ST with a new grille, bolstered leather seats, and prominent ST badging.

Besides the ST package, the 2019 Edge will get a major facelift from previous generations with a renewed focus on safety technology. Standard driver assist systems will include:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Lane Keeping System
  • Reverse Camera
  • Blind Spot Information System
  • Auto High Beam

The 2019 Edge and Edge ST will arrive at dealers this fall. When it does arrive, stop by Sarat Ford to see it for yourself.
